ED FRANCIS CAST GLASS SCULPTURE. Large cast glass sculpture is done in a shadowbox format. The heavy cast glass outer border is decorated with swirling raised designs while the interior of the shadowbox has Southwest type designs with a setting sun, sun rays and snake around an alter that supports a white glass spiral containing a clump of dried grass. Back of the sculpture is polished clear revealing the backside of the shadowbox which is colored in blue glass and is engraved with the same patterns as the front side. Signed near back foot “Ed Francis Copyright 1991 Shrine-Spiral”. SIZE: 18-1/2″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Ivan Cohen. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-62894 (1,000-2,000)
