EUGENE FRANCIS SAVAGE (American, 1883-1978) “LOOKING NORTH OF KAILUA FROM NEAR HOLUALA OR N. KONA”. Unsigned oil on canvas Hawaiian scene shows a view overlooking tropical trees and bushes toward a low peninsula in blue water under a light blue sky. Title is written on edge of canvas. Housed in a modern gilt carved wood frame. SIZE: 16″ x 20″. PROVENANCE: Accompanied by a color copy of the painting with an inscription attesting to the authenticity by Walter Crawford, the artists grandson. CONDITION: Very good with some inpainting. 9-96848 (2,250-2,750)
