FACTORY ENGRAVED REMINGTON POLICE MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 36 Perc. SN 10517. Blued finish, rare 5-1/2” oct bbl with three line markings on bbl, dovetail brass base German silver blade front sight, casehardened hammer, silver triggerguard, & 2-pc smooth walnut grips. The engraving is well done covering half of bbl, all of frame, part of triggerguard & outside center of cylinder. A rarely seen piece. This revolver had been machined to accept a conversion cylinder for cartridge conversion & now has a percussion cylinder installed & engraved to match. Perhaps somewhere there is a conversion cylinder to match this revolver & engraving. CONDITION: Fine. Smooth blue/brown patina overall. Patina on cyl has matched that on frame. 80% silver on triggerguard. Grips have been re-varnished. Mechanics are good. Bright bore with moderate pitting. 4-59399 JH90 (1,500-2,500)
