SET OF 8 GEORGE III CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS. Last quarter 18th century. Comprised of six matching Georgian side chairs and a pair of Georgian-style benchmade early 20th century armchairs, custom-made to accompany the side chairs. Each side chair with serpentine molded crest rail above the pierced urn- and fan-shaped splat joined to the trapezoidal seat, raised on square chamfered legs joined by recessed box stretcher. Armchairs with outcurved arms on downswept supports. SIZE: Each armchair: 38″ h. of back x 17-1/2″ h. of seat. Each side chair: 37-1/2″ h. of back. CONDITION: Armchairs good with no restoration and with original surfaces. Four side chairs with repairs to crest rails at stiles. One chair with old repair proper left rear leg. One chair with old repairs and splices to stiles at seat rail. Additional minor cosmetic repairs throughout. Overall good. 9-99678 (2,400-3,000)
