CS 3” TENNESSEE SABOT (MULLANE) SHELL. Excavated. In unfired condition with a portion of the orig wooden “shock absorber” disk. Copper sabot is in excellent condition and has orig wooden time-fuse adapter. Part of a cache of shells recovered from a caisson that overturned as the Confederates were retreating across the Big Black River, during the May 1863 Battle of the Big Black River, Mississippi.
