UNSIGNED (18th Century) PAIR OF ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS. Large oil on canvas life size portraits housed in identical regilt carved wood antique frames. The woman shown seated in three-quarter view with arms posed in lap and looking slightly to the viewers left. She wears an elegant red dress with white trim and has jewelry accented clasps. She has a gray robe draped over one arm and behind. She sits against a brown paneled wall with opening looking out to a sunset landscape scene on viewers right. The long gray curly haired man shown in standing position with one arm on hip, the other petting a brown and white dog. He wears a gray jacket with fancy jewelry type buckles with a white braided cravat and has a gold/brown cloth draped over one arm and under another. He wears a gold ring on his left hand. Over his right shoulder is a sunset landscape view. His backdrop is a light gray colored wood paneling. An outstanding pair in wonderful restored condition. SIZE: 50″ x 41″.
