FINE HEPPLEWHITE INLAID MAHOGANY WRITING BOX. First quarter 19th Century. Rectangular form with string inlays and crossbanding centering an oval patera with nautilus shell inlay, with hinged lid opening to a baize-line writing surface opening to a well fitted with a mahogany box opening to an arrangement of small drawers with bone knobs. The ends with brass carrying handles and a pen drawer. SIZE: 6-1/2″h x 15-1/2″l x 9-1/2″d. CONDITION: Professionally repolished, in fine condition overall. One bone knob is absent on a small, interior drawer. 9-94449 (600-900)
