IMPORTANT SHEET-IRON HORSE DRAWN FIRE ENGINE WEATHERVANE. Late 19th century, New England. This fine example with original riveted braces with traces of red paint beneath later black paint mounted to an arrow. Note: A nearly identical example was sold at Sotheby’s New York, January 18, 2002. SIZE: 15-1/2″ h x 37-1/2″ l. CONDITION: With original and later surfaces, with overall rust commensurate with age.
