EMPIRE CHILD’S PINE BLANKET CHEST IN BROWN PAINT. Mid 19th Century. The rectangular hinged lid with applied molded edges, the interior of which is affixed a print of a family group, the family head in military uniform. The dove-tailed chest with lidded till. The case with frontal mid molding, the bottom with extended molded edges. The case applied with rectangular legs, all in original light-brown paint. SIZE: 11″ h x 17″ w x 12-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Slight damage to both sides rear of lid. Overall wear and abrasions to painted surfaces. Blanket chest retains original lock and hasp. Overall good. 9-23644 (700-900)
