THREE ITALIAN ENAMELED COMPACTS. Wonderful lot of Italian compacts. 1) Large compact with beautifully enameled scene of a courting couple being watched by their dog and a sheep. The remainder of the box is beautifully engraved with swirling leaves and flowers on sides and bottom. The exterior of the box is finished with a silver handle which locks the top in place. The interior of the box has matching fine engraving and is compartmentalized with three box compartments of different sizes and an attached lipstick case. 2) Wonderful enameled compact with courting couple surrounded by engraved silver design in rich dark blue enameling. The lid is held in place with a locking handle surrounding a malachite cabochon while the underside of the compact is entirely engraved with swirling flowers. 3) Wonderful enameled scene of an elderly couple; she reading a paper and he dipping a biscotti in cup of coffee. The underside of the compact is beautifully engraved with swirling leaves and remnants of a gold wash. SIZE: Ranges from 3″ to 5″ w. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ. CONDITION: Large compact shows wear to gold wash on exterior, otherwise all items are very good to excellent. 5-68287-20 (600-800)
