FINE DIMINUTIVE CHIPPENDALE MAHOGANY LOOKING GLASS. Late 18th century, New England. The rectangular mirror plate within a carved gilt slip within a molded frame. All within delicately scrolling crest, ears, and apron. Mahogany veneer on pine. SIZE: 17″ h x 12″ w. PROVENANCE: Written in script in pencil on backboard: “This came from the Thompson family… Has been in family since 1800”. CONDITION: In original untouched condition, very good overall. 7-70126 (800-1,200)
