OAK FLAX WHEEL WITH INFANT’S BONNET. Second half 18th century. Of typical form branded with the maker’s name “J. Reynold”. Flax wheel accompanied by old bundle of flax. The linen cap is accompanied by a hand written card reading in script: “An infant’s cap made with thread spun by this flax wheel. The cap was made between the year 1762-1770”. SIZE: 35″ h x 34″ l. CONDITION: Finish removed from surfaces. Old restorations to structural elements. Good overall, remains operable. 9-27716 (200-300)
