UNUSUAL EARLY AMERICAN MAPLE TRAY TOP STAND. First quarter 19th century, possibly New Hampshire. The square tray top with molded edge joined to an unusual urn form ring-turned standard with notch carving raised on angular shallow tripod base terminating in snake feet. Legs joined to base by pegged construction. SIZE: 24-3/4″ h. Top: 16-1/2″ sq. CONDITION: Structurally very good, with older surfaces. Remnants of original blue/gray paint beneath top. Small horizontal shrinkage crack through top. 9-27545 (350-450)
