GREAT MAPLE & TIGER MAPLE QUEEN ANNE ARMCHAIR. Circa 1760, most likely Long Island, New York. The serpentine crest rail, above an open back joined to a vasiform splat flanked by baluster-turned stiles with smooth turnings, the shaped rectangular open arms ending in scrolled grips above a trapezoidal rush seat with baluster-turned front legs joined by double turned stretchers. SIZE: 49” h x 24-1/2” w x 18” d. PROVENANCE: Long Island Hewlett family, from the Merrick House and was on loan to a local museum for many years.
