FINE DIMINUTIVE CHINA TRADE BRASS-BOUND CAMPHOR BOX. Early 19th century. The rectangular hinged lid fitted to the conforming case, all black leather covered and brass-bound with strapping, decorated overall with double rows of brass studs, the ends fitted with brass carrying handles, the front with brass escutcheon, raised on attached wooden brackets fitted with sculpted cast-brass paw feet raised on casters. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h. x 24-1/2″ l. x 12-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Overall very good original condition. Small repairs to leather at center of lid, probably due to removal of brass nameplate. Small weaknesses and tears in leather at back corners of box. 9-94480 (500-750)
