RARE ENGRAVED REMINGTON SMOOT FIRST MODEL SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. Cal. 30 RF. SN 143. Revolving recoil shield, 2-7/8” keyhole oct bbl with integral ejector rod housing. It has nickel-plating and full coverage factory engraving consisting of foliate arabesque patterns on the frame and cylinder with geometric patterns on the side flats of the bbl. The back strap and butt are engraved to match. It has smooth 2-pc birdhead rosewood grips. Only about 300 First Models were made and very few were engraved. CONDITION: Good. Overall retains 30-40% original nickel with the balance light patina with some fine pitting around the forcing cone area. Hand and cylinder stop are missing, otherwise mechanics are fine, strong bore with fine pitting. 4-52962 JR712 (500-1,000)
