RARE PAIR PAINT DECORATED CANDLE SCONCES. First quarter 19th century, Connecticut. Each rolled sheet iron example with narrow fluted back, crimped edge rounded crests, with rounded bobeches centering candle cups with cleanout slots. Each sconce painted in individual design with wandering vine decoration, one with berries, on dry black painted ground SIZE: 12-1/2″ h x 2-3/4″ w. CONDITION: Structurally very good with age appropriate wear on painted surfaces. 9-27794 (1,200-1,500)
