NEW ENGLAND 26-DRAWER PINE APOTHECARY CHEST. Late 18th Century, found in Maine. in original paint, the rectangular dovetailed case fitted with three rows of seven short drawers over a row of five deep drawers, each dovetailed with ebonized knob, beneath an elliptic area for painted label. SIZE: 25-1/2″ h. x 60″ l. x 9-3/4″ overall d. CONDITION: Cabinet retains original reddish-brown painted surfaces. Labeled areas have been painted over, 25 of 26 knobs original, one lower drawer with loose drawer bottom, applied base molding mostly intact. Otherwise good. 9-99355 (1,200-2,000)
