HANDEL BIRDS IN FLIGHT LAMP. Handel table lamp has obverse painted scene of birds in flight with a background of trees and meadows. Trees create five open areas in which the birds are flying. Decoration is all set against a chipped ice background. Shade rests on an oriental style Handel base with openwork foot and raised flowers, stems and leaves on the body of the base. All finished in a rich brown patina. Shade is signed on the interior bottom rim “Handel 6868” as well as artist’s initials “HB”. SIZE: Shade is 18″ dia. Lamp is 23-3/4″ t.
