FINE MAINE EMPIRE FIGURED AND BIRDS-EYE MAPLE SECRETARY. Second quarter 19th century. In two parts, the rectangular canted cornice above the conforming upper case fitted with a pair of hinged paneled doors opening to an interior of two fixed shelves above a row of pigeon holes centering a document drawer above a pair of aligned small drawers fitted and stepped back on the lower case having a hinged folding writing surface above lopers centering a long drawer over two inset long drawers, flanked by serpentine pilasters ending in boldly rolled feet. The door panels and drawer fronts all of a nice birds-eye maple. SIZE: 73-3/4″ h x 45-1/4″ overall w, 41″ case w x 20″ d. CONDITION: Very good original condition with cleaned surfaces. Brass hardware on the three lower case long drawers replaced. 9-99979 (1,500-2,500)
