REMINGTON NEW MODEL NAVY REVOLVER. Cal 36 Perc. SN 28036. Blued finish, 7-7/16” oct bbl, pinched blade front sight, 2-pc smooth walnut grips, silver-plated brass trigger-guard. Markings on bbl are double stamped which is very unusual & also bears the bbl anchor stamp signifying 1866 Navy inspection and acceptance for further use. There is a “P” on the front of the cyl and an “M” stamped on rear of cyl. The same “M” is stamped on the left side by the triggerguard. This revolver was one of 500 delivered to the New York Navy Yard on June 30, 1864 according to consignor’s research. CONDITION: Good. Blue/brown patina overall with some signs of cleaning. Grips have numerous shallow dents and somewhere around the bottom, all covered with varnish. Bore is pore, action is fine. 4-59380 JH115 (1,750-2,500)
