EXTREMELY RARE BOOK CASE FOR COLT NO. 2 DERRINGER. . Rare & unusual book casing for the Colt No. 2 Derringer, 6-3/4″ high x 4-1/2″ wide x 1-1/2″ thick, covered in green leather with gold embossed, ribbed spine marked “The / Gamblers / Choice” with the author “Colt”. The cover is embossed in gold “The / Gamblers Choice / by / Col. Saml. Colt”. The exposed edges are colorful period paisley style, marbled foliate print. Interior is green velvet lined and French fitted in the bottom for the derringer with a triangular compartment in the right front corner containing six orig 41 RF cartridges. These are some of the most rare of all Colt casings and are almost never encountered especially in fine usable condition. CONDITION: Very fine. Exterior shows light wear around edges and corners with strong bright colors and clear bold embossed lettering & decorations. Interior is lightly faded & soiled but completely intact.
