COLT NEW LINE 22 SERIAL NUMBER 1 SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER. SN 1. Cal. 22 Short. Usual configuration with 2-1/4″ flat side bbl, German silver front sight with 2-line address. It has brass frame with 2-pc bird head rosewood grips and 7-shot cyl with short flutes and cyl pin without knurling. SN was observed on bottom of butt, bottom of bbl and rear face of cylinder. Accompanied by a letter on Berryman’s Sport Center letterhead over the signature of R.B. Berryman dated March 18, 1975 wherein he states that he certify that this revolver was purchased from the collection of R.Q. Sutherland (Co-author of the Colt bible, The Book of Colt Firearms, Sutherland & Wilson). The letter further states that this revolver was then purchased by C.G. Aycock, Jr. on March 13, 1975. PROVENANCE: R.Q. Sutherland Collection; Bob Berryman; C.G. Aycock, Jr. Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. No orig finish remains with the steel parts a cleaned steel gray patina and the brass frame retains a medium mustard patina. Grips are sound with a ding on right side, showing moderate to heavy wear and retain about 50% orig finish. Mechanics are fine, worn dark bore. 4-40545 JR147 (1,500-5,500)
