LEADED & STAINED GLASS WINDOW. Spectacular leaded and stained glass window attributed to John LaFarge features center oval medallion of beautifully stained flowers and leaves in oranges, browns and greens. The oval panel is further decorated with double layer plated areas in blue and green rippled glass resembling water. Plated triangular panels at each corner are stained with swirling leaf designs while the top, bottom and sides of the oval are decorated with opalescent cabochon jewels and turquoise glass. Window is bordered with a band of round and oblong amber jewels which are in turn bordered by rectangular panels of light amber glass. Window is mounted in what appears to be the original wooden frame painted black. SIZE: 35-1/2″ w x 40-1/2″ t overall. Window is 33″ x 38″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Private Collection of Dorothy Lee Jones. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with some minor bowing at the bottom. 5-62306 (10,000-15,000)
