FRANCOIS VANDEVERDONCK (Belgian, 1848-after 1890) PRIDE OF THE FAMILY. Oil on wood panel scene shows a ram and ewe with their two young lambs. They stand & rest on short grass with flowers next to a small water area with two ducks and one chicken. In the distance is the town under a gathering cloud sky with areas of blue. Signed center bottom and dated “1874”. Also a painted white area on back of panel signed by the artist with a foreign title and inscription. Housed in a gilt period frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 18-1/4″ x 26-3/4″. CONDITION: Some inpainting, very good. 9-22564 (5,000-7,000)
