PAIR OF “FLOWER TOP” SHEET-IRON CANDLE SCONCES. Circa 1800, probably Pennsylvania. This fine pair in rolled sheet-iron, each with fluted backs, and punched and cut out flower head design continuing to circular bobeches with folded edge and conforming candle cups, each with crimped tab base. Note: Minor design variations within the pair, but certainly by the same hand. SIZE: 18-3/4″ h x 5″ w. CONDITION: Very good condition overall, with fine dark patina, and vestiges of original tinned surfaces. 9-28497 (1,200-1,600)
