CARVED WOODEN CHAIN PICKEREL BY LAWRENCE IRVING OF WINTHROP, MAINE. Irving carved a number of game fish throughout the middle portion of the 20th century which he distributed personally and through a local sporting goods store. Most of his species were of the salmon and trout variety, but on rare occasions he carved chain pickerel, this being an example of one of those. This carving mounted on a thin plywood rack on the reverse of which he has titled it, “CHAIN PICKEREL”. SIZE: (fish) 21-1/2” l; (plaque) 26” l. CONDITION: One of the mid body fins appears to have been re-glued at one time, but in general, the carving is in very nice condition. 9-94634 (1,750-2,750)
