JOHN MARIN (American, 1870-1953) THE COVE. Watercolor scene shows a U-shaped cove with boats and colorful surrounding land and hills. Shanty’s are seen at end of cove and a white elephant is seen in left corner. Below which it is signed “Marin”. Housed in a fine silver and gold molded wood frame with wide ivory matte and gold liner. SIGHT SIZE: 7-3/4” x 10-3/4”. CONDITION: There is some bleeding which we are not sure if it is original to the watercolor. Very good. 9-29033 (3000-5000)
