MINIATURE DOME-TOP TRINKET BOX. Circa 1800, Maine. This pine and maple paint decorated example fitted with iron snipe hinges and hasp with vibrant paint decoration of yellow and ochre diagonal banding surrounding persimmon white and black panels, the central fields of which are sponge decorated. SIZE: 3″ h x 5″ l x 3-1/4″. CONDITION: Painted surfaces as mentioned, a slight warp to bottom of box. Otherwise in very good untouched condition throughout. 9-28499 (2,000-3,000)
