*SMITH & WESSON 3RD MODEL SINGLE SHOT TARGET PISTOL. Cal. 22LR. Blued finish, 10” keyhole ribbed bbl, partridge front sight, adjustable rear sight. 2-pc diamond checkered extended walnut grips without medallions. Left side of the rib extension and top left side of the frame are stamped with the pre-war German eagle “N” proof. This pistol was sold 5-29-1924 to the Peters Ammunition Co. and is reported to have an Olympic chamber. It is possible, given the unusual proof mark, that this pistol may have participated in the 1936 Olympics. SN 11336. CONDITION: Fine. Retains 94-95% strong bright original blue with flaking and fine surface rust on the bbl and some light flaking on the sideplate. Grips are fine with light wear, bright shiny bore.
