C. MULLER (European, 19th Century) THE CHEMIST. Outstanding oil on canvas scene shows a scientist in his chemical laboratory. He is seen seated at a table holding a glass vial and inspecting it. Intricate interior scene has chemist equipment, cabinets, a large open fireplace with fire. Papers are strewn across table. Signed “C. Muller” which is under frame edge. Housed in its original gesso decorated frame with some gilt loss, but in good condition. SIZE: 8” x 12”. CONDITION: Some light scrapes to edges but generally very good. 9-97414 (3,000-6,000)
