FINE FEDERAL MAHOGANY TWO-PEDESTAL DINING TABLE, PROBABLY NEW YORK. First quarter 19th century. The rectangular figured mahogany top with three-inch rosewood crossbanding and rounded corners, in two sections, each section joined on bulbous spool- and ring-turned standards, raised on four outswept reeded legs with conforming brass-capped casters. With two additional 25-1/2″ original leaves in a custom case. SIZE: 27-1/2″ h. x 53-3/4″ w. x 52-1/2″ l. closed/103″ l. open. PROVENANCE: Bernard & Levy Inc., New York City. From a fine home in Bucksport, Maine. CONDITION: Professionally restored and repolished with fine color and patina. Two areas on top with discoloration. Retains original casters.
