FINE 19TH CENTURY ROCOCO SILVER PLATE POT ON STAND. 3rd Quarter 19th Century. With an unascribed maker’s hallmark “PGS”, additional marks of a crown aligned with a fleur de lis, followed by “PGS” hallmark all above “071”. Hallmark described is on the kettle. The stand and burner are unmarked and presumed not to be original to the kettle. Kettle of overall floral repousse centering a “C” scrolled cartouche, lid with displayed eagle finial fitted to the stand and burner. Top of spout designed with an eagle’s head. Base of spout decorated with a fanciful bust. Stand with heat vents around the upper rim, the base with opposing masks with scrolled borders raised on four cabriole legs with beaded edges terminating in three toed feet. SIZE: 18″ h overall.
