REGENCY INLAID MAHOGANY TAMBOUR SIDE CABINET. Early 19th century. The diminutive cabinet with shaped 3/4 gallery carved finger grips on three sides continuing to panel sides. The front fitted with a tambour door comprised of ebony and satinwood strips opening to an interior fitted with single shelf. Raised on square chamfered legs. The whole with string inlaid and crossbanded details. The cabinet with mahogany veneer on quartersawn oak secondary wood. SIZE: 30″ h x 14″ w x 14″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine coastal Westerly, RI estate. CONDITION: Generally very good, with re-polished surfaces and minor shrinkage throughout. 9-28347 (400-600)
