CLASSICAL MAHOGANY THREE PEDESTAL DINING TABLE. Late 19th century. In three parts, the rectangular top with D-ends, all with reeded edges, fitted with two additional 19-1/2″ leaves. Each section raised on rung-turned cylindrical pedestal, the center raised on four outswept reeded legs, the ends each with tripod legs, the whole terminating in brass capped casters. Table with original brass chips. SIZE: 28-1/2″ h x 45″ w x 11′ 8″ l (fully extended), 8′ 5″ (closed). PROVENANCE: By descent through the Walter Rothschild family of New York. Purported by a member of the family to have been used to entertain Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Lord Louis Mountbatten while visiting with the family. CONDITION: Structurally good.
