UNSIGNED (American, 19th Century) PAIR OF MOOSEHEAD LAKE, MAINE SCENES. Oil on canvas scenes, both by the same hand in a primitive style. One shows large cliff sided mountain, Mt. Kineo? descending to large lake with different boats. A town is seen on far shore with buildings, two people are seen looking out over view under large trees on left side. The other with similar mountain cliff, lake and boats, with mountain in background. Foreground shows an area of forest with cut down trees. Identically housed in fine period gilt gesso flower decorated frames. Sticker attached to back “Emma Small”. SIZE: 9” x 18”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-25598 (1,000-2,000)
