JOHN FAWCETT (American, 1952-) “SPLASH”. Outstanding oil on canvasboard western scene shows a cowboy in a long golden trail coat with black hat atop a brown horse. They cross a shallow river with a landscape background. Light shines from the right side and they are reflected in the calm water. Signed lower left “Fawcett”. Housed in a weathered wood frame with gold liner. Fawcett, a Veterinarian by profession, turned to art full time later in his life due to his fascination of how animals and people interact, predominantly in the western theme. SIZE: 12″ x 18″. PROVENANCE: From a private New Hampshire collector. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-95356 (3,000-5,000)
