IMPORTANT TULIP DECORATED REDWARE MUG. Circa 1862, probably Pennsylvania. Small bulbous mug slip decorated in yellow and green with flowering tulips centering a heart further centering the date “1862” in yellow slip. Reference: Tulipware of the Pennsylvania-German Potters by Edwin Atlee Barber, see page 55 for similar examples. SIZE: 5-1/4″ h. CONDITION: Very good overall with normal and expected bubbles in glaze. Minor wear to glaze on rim. 9-24479 (900-1,100)
