NEW ENGLAND QUEEN ANNE MAPLE BIRCH AND OAK SPANISH FOOT ARMCHAIR. Second half 18th century. The yoked crest joined to the vasiform splat, the chamfered arms with scrolled grips, raised on block- and baluster-turned frontal legs, joined by baluster-turned box stretcher with ball and reel-turned frontal stretcher, raised on Spanish feet, the rear legs backswept. SIZE: 42-1/2″ h. of back. PROVENANCE: From a fine home in Bucksport, Maine. CONDITION: Professionally refinished. Back side of frontal stretcher absent. 9-93157 (4,000-6,000)
