UNSIGNED (American, 19th Century) PAIR OF ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS. Oil on canvas, identically housed in nice gesso decorated period frames. The man with black beard and black coat against a dark background. The woman wearing dark dress with lace collar and pearl decorated hair pin against a dark background. SIZE: 27” x 22”. CONDITION: Unrestored. Woman has a 5” tear in background. Man has small 1” tear in head with some craquelure and scrapes. Fair to good. Frames are very nice. 9-26593 (400-800)
