AMES “USN” POWDER FLASK. Large copper flask with 8″ rounded body, brass collar, top & spout. Dbl sided with repoussed fouled anchor over “U.S.N.” with two small ring hangers. There are small “P” proof marks on both sides of the collar & top of the flask with the very top marked with the maker’s name and the date “1843” with inspector’s initials “WAT”. CONDITION: Very fine. Complete and orig retaining 60-70% dark orig finish with the worn areas a dark patina. Brass collar & spout have a very dark patina. A fine flask. 4-54460 JR460 (300-600)
