LARGE IMPORTANT MOLDED COPPER PIG WEATHERVANE. Last quarter 19th century. Attributed to L.W. Cushing & Son , Waltham , Massachusetts. Original worn and weathered gilt surfaces. This large full bodied example has applied sheet copper ears, a whimsically curled tail and a friendly expression. Includes museum stand. Note: An almost identical example sold at Christie’s New York January 2007, lot number 316. Another similar example sold by Skinner Auction Company of the Andy Williams Folk Art Collection March 3, 2013 Boston Gallery, lot 2. SIZE: 19-1/2″ h x 35″ l 4″ approximate w.
