RARE CIRCUS HORSE AND HOOP COPPER WEATHERVANE. Second half 19th century. Attributed to A.L. Jewell & Co., Waltham, MA. Nice full body example with zinc head and sheet copper mane and tail. Modeled jumping through a large iron hoop. The weathervane with nice combination of verdigris and gilded surfaces. Now offered on a wood stand. SIZE: 14-1/2″ h x 30-1/2″ l approx. PROVENANCE: From a private Waterville, Maine collection. CONDITION: Very good overall. No restoration noted. Tail slightly bent to the right, believed to be easily restored. Hoop in need of solder reattachment to fitting. 9-29607 (8,000-12,000)
