*LATE FIRST GENERATION COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. SN 355266. Cal. 38 Spcl. Blue & color case hardened with 7-1/2″ bbl, full thick front sight and 1-line block letter address with late first generation markings on left side. Left side of frame has 2-line 3-patent dates and rampant Colt without circle. Mounted with Rampant Colt hard rubber grips that have had a SN removed from the inside of each grip. SN was observed on bottom of frame and right side of the front & back straps under the grip. Last two digits of SN are found on the rear face of the cyl. Unfortunately this revolver falls within a particular serial block whose records are no longer available at Colt. Regardless, given the fact that the cyl is matching numbered and all other aspects of the revolver are correct, it is assumed that this revolver is a correct 38 Spcl. pre-war Colt Single Action Army. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching except grips as noted. Bbl, ejector rod housing & cyl retain virtually all of their brilliant orig factory blue with only faint sharp edge wear and a couple of small dull spots on left side of bbl. Frame retains virtually all of its very strong factory case colors, mostly crisp & bright, lightly faded on the top strap, recoil shield & loading gate. Front strap, trigger guard & back strap retain about all of their orig blue with some light, fine freckles of rust. Grips are sound showing little or no wear and fit extremely well. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-40798 JR201 (6,000-9,000)
