FOLK ART CARVED ROOSTER WEATHERVANE, SIGNED BY MAKER. Late 19th century. Carved from pine and joined at the neck, with feathered wings, the legs and tail of sheet copper, perched on a hardwood sphere. Rooster’s comb and wattle in red paint; body, tail, and legs in gold paint. Carved on the underside with the maker’s initials “J.L.-92”. SIZE: 30″ overall h. x 34-1/4″ l. CONDITION: Overall very weathered, with old repair to head at neck. Small chip at tip of beak. The painted surfaces with extensive weathering and paint loss. 9-93247 (800-1,200)
