GEORGE INNESS (American, 1825-1894) SUNRISE AT MONTCLAIR. Unsigned oil on canvas laid on board interior woodland scene shows a figure in red and blue in a sunlit area of thick woods. Housed in a period gesso gilt frame with gilt liner. Inscribed on back in more modern pencil is title, artist and date of “1885”. SIZE: 10″ x 14″.
