EUGENE BOUDIN (French, 1824-1898) FRENCH LANDSCAPE WITH COWS. Oil on mahogany panel shows six cows laying & standing in a grass covered field with a farmhouse nestled amongst tall trees. In the distance is the continuation of the field with other cows and farmhouses with a low hill beyond. All under a blue & white cloud sky. Signed bottom right and dated “55”. Housed in a fine gesso decorated gilt frame with linen liner. The panel has a wood grid support. NOTE: Accompanying the lot is a copy of a recent conservator’s receipt for cleaning from Simon Parkes of New York City. SIZE: 14-3/4″ x 21-3/4″. PROVENANCE: Property from a New York Estate.
