LOUIS XVI MARBLE AND ORMOLU GUERIDON. Late 18th, early 19th century. Square white marble top with molded edges fitted to the conforming frieze. Frieze applied with cast brass floral rosettes, each set within an open circle joined by leaf tips alternating with cast trophy mounts. Raised on tapering cylindrical white marble legs with cast capitals and bases all mounted with Athemion leaves and with guilloches. Legs joined by X-form stretcher of cast brass scrolling leaf tips centering white ball marble finial centering cast brass flame finial. SIZE: 31-1/2” h x 19-3/4” square top. CONDITION: Marble top with repaired crescent chip. Frieze with repairs to corners. Central finial slightly bent. All mounts and marble appear original, otherwise good. 9-23121 (2,000-3,000)
