TIFFANY STUDIOS LINENFOLD TABLE LAMP. Lamp begins with a linenfold (or “Fabrique”) shade with bronze upper border and apron, with inset panels of the warm amber-hued glass. Vertical panels are completed with horizontal panels to top and bottom of each. Shade is supported by an organic form base with six tendrils coming up the shaft and six going down, all in a flowing Art Nouveau design. Base is completed with three sockets and large top cap. The entire lamp carries a warm, spun gold finish. Shade signed to interior “Tiffany Studios New York 1931”. Base is signed “Tiffany Studios New York 586”. Similar example is pictured in the book The Lamps of Tiffany by Dr. Egon Neustadt, pg. 56, No. 74. SIZE: Shade 14-1/2″ dia. Lamp 22″ t. PROVENANCE: Estate of Lawrence Fisher, Principal in Fisher Body and President of Cadillac. Lamp is accompanied by a copy of a letter from Frank H. Boos Gallery confirming it was purchased from the Fisher Estate with details about the estate and the lamp. CONDITION: Shade has a few tight hairlines to linenfold panels with some minor wear and discoloration to gold patina. Base has some wear commensurate with age.
