RARE AND POIGNANT LIBBY CUSTER LETTER TO MRS. SHELDON DATED DEC. 7, 1876. Emotionally inspired letter written in polished penmanship on Libby Custer’s personal monogrammed stationary. This letter is one of thanks for sympathetic thoughts in “those dark hours”. Letter reveals Libby’s struggle to press on in life bearing the legacy & burden of the General’s death. In this letter Libby speaks of seeking strength from the Lord in her commitment to honoring her husband’s life and highly publicized demise. Accompanied by a typewritten transcript of this letter.
